Shrewsbury College is celebrating exceptional success following the publication of the latest Department for Education A Level Performance Tables, which confirm that the college's students make outstanding progress.

The performance tables, which measure the improvement in grades from GCSE to A Level, show that a large proportion of Shrewsbury College students achieve A Level grades higher than those predicted from their GCSE starting points.

The college was ranked in the top 10% of colleges nationally for its A Level results in 2025, as it was in 2024. The government reintroduced national league tables in 2024 following a gap caused by the impact of COVID-19.
This outstanding progress demonstrates the college’s commitment to high-quality teaching, ambitious academic support, and an environment that enables students to exceed expectations.

Principal James Staniforth said:
"We are incredibly proud of our students and staff. These results demonstrate not only the academic strength of our students but also the impact of expert teaching, personalised support, and a college culture that believes every student can excel.’

Vice Principal of A Levels, Chris Sears, added:

‘Our progress ranking reflects what so many families and students already know: that Shrewsbury College is a place where hard work, aspiration and exceptional teaching converge. We are delighted to see our students’ success recognised at both regional and national levels.’

These results reinforce Shrewsbury College’s standing as one of the leading providers of A Level education in the region and demonstrate the college’s continued commitment to ensuring that every student achieves their full potential.
