Supporting your studies at college to succeed at the highest level
Shrewsbury Scholars is a comprehensive and challenging programme of support and guidance designed to facilitate successful applications to the UK’s most competitive universities, including Oxford and Cambridge.
Students are selected for the programme based on their GCSE results and teacher recommendations.
Our Shrewsbury Scholars will have access to the following:
- Regular timetabled sessions to develop critical thinking, oracy and academic curiosity.
- Early support with university research and super-curricular work to enhance UCAS applications, including additional subject extension courses.
- Advice and guidance from successful college alumni.
Emphasis on early applications for Oxbridge and medical sciences, with workshops to support personal statement writing - Links with our regionally affiliated colleges at Oxford and Cambridge universities.
- Residential trips to Oxford and Cambridge universities.
- Interview practice and support with admission tests.
- UCAT preparation for Medicine and access to Medify are supported by the college
- Support to access work experience and volunteering for medicine, dentistry and veterinary medicine.
- Support with applications to summer schools.
