  • Who is it for?

    The Level 2 Health and Social Care study programme designed to develop the chosen sector's skills, experience, knowledge and behaviours to support progression.

  • Entry Requirements

    A minimum of four GCSEs at Grade 3 including English or Maths at Grade 4 (or Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths) OR aspiring Professional or a relevant Level 1 qualification and English or Maths at Grade 4 or above (or Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths). Applicants should be ready to complete a work placement. Your DBS check will need to meet setting requirements.

  • What does the course involve?

    You can expect to:

    • Gain an accredited Level 2 qualification
    • Learn technical knowledge and practical skills
    • Gain relevant industry work experience
    • Develop industry-relevant English and maths skills, as well as digital skills
    • Continue working towards achieving a GSCE grade 4 in English and/or maths if you do not already have this
    • Receive focused individual support and growth in personal development.

    This course will provide a firm foundation for anyone looking to progress and succeed on a Level 3 Health and Social Care. It is designed to develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed to support your progression into a successful career in this dynamic sector. You will be required to complete a work experience placement.

    Units will be internally assessed for the programme along with externally set and marked exams.

    The  Level 2 Extended Certificate in Health and Social Care alongside a high-quality work placement with one of our industry partners, so you have a firm foundation in the following important areas of health:

    • Equality, diversity and rights in health and social care
    • Human growth and development
      • Safeguarding and protection in health and social care
      • Communication in health and social care
      • Working in health and social care.

      You will also benefit from the development of your core skills in maths and English, alongside career-focused tasks to prepare you to succeed on a T Level in Health.

  • Other Details

    The prime aim for this course is to enable you to prepare for the Level 3 Health and Social Care study Programme, however it also prepares you for employment in a variety of health and social care settings as well as opportunities to apprenticeships across the sector.
