Eligibility for FREE Level 2 Distance Learning Courses:

  • Be resident in England and live in a postcode area that is eligible for funding
  • Learners must be aged 19 years or over as of the current academic year
  • Have a Full Level 2 qualification if aged 19-23 (subject to a ULN check being undertaken)
  • Have lived in the EU for the last three years
  • How much does it cost?

    This course is currently being offered FREE of charge. If, however, the learner is withdrawn without completing the course a fee may be charged to cover the cost of administration, course materials and registration.

  • Who is it for?

    The purpose of this qualification is to give learners the skills to support colleagues with mental health problems. These skills will be gained by increasing the learner's knowledge and understanding of mental health conditions and the principles of mental health first aid and how this can be implemented in the workplace.

    This qualification is suitable for learners who wish to raise awareness of mental health, creating a culture of care and the promotion of positive mental health. This qualification gives learners the opportunity to understand mental health, its associated care and how this can be applied to learners or colleagues in the workplace.

  • Entry Requirements

    There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this programme, although the qualification is designed for those currently employed in a relevant role. Good numeracy and literacy skills are advantageous.

  • What does the course involve?

    The course comprises the following three Mandatory Units.:

    • Unit 01 Exploring mental health
    • Unit 02 Understand how to support individuals with mental ill health
    • Unit 03 Understand a mentally healthy environment

     

    This qualification could be what you need to improve your career prospects and get your ideal job, if you are unable to attend college on a regular basis. Distance Learning with Shrewsbury College gives you more flexibility, allowing you to study where and when you want. All you need is a commitment, as Distance Learning is not necessarily an easy option, especially if you are already working full-time.   • How is the course assessed?

    To pass this qualification, learners are required to complete 1 formal assessment, submitted to us for marking.
