Shrewsbury College is delighted to announce a new partnership with Kukri Sports, a leading British sportswear brand, as the official supplier of playing kits for the college's competitive sports teams.
The Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ college runs fifteen sports teams that compete each week in regional leagues and cup competitions. Under the new partnership, students representing the college in football (men's and women's), rugby (men's and women's), netball, basketball, hockey and volleyball will wear a consistent, professionally designed kit range, creating a strong, unified identity across all competitive teams.
College Principal, James Staniforth, said:
‘We are delighted to partner with Kukri Sports, a highly respected British sportswear brand with an outstanding reputation across education and sport. This partnership provides our student-athletes with high-quality performance kit and creates a strong, recognisable identity for Shrewsbury College sport.’
He continued: ‘The new design brings together all our competitive teams under a single look and feel, fostering a sense of pride, belonging and unity whenever our students represent the college.’
Mia Williams, one of the captains of the Women’s Rugby Team, said: ‘I really like the fit and quality. The purple and yellow colours stand out, and the kit itself seems really durable and warm, which suits different conditions. I’m looking forward to playing in it.’
Chris Marshall, Group COO, for Kukri Sports, added:
‘We’re really proud to be entering into our new partnership with Shrewsbury College. The new designs look fantastic, and we’re looking forward to seeing the partnership develop over the coming years. I know the college has big ambitions for the future and fantastic facilities; we’re committed to playing our part in supporting those ambitions and helping students achieve new milestones in their sporting journeys.’
The launch of the new kit is part of the college's wider commitment to student enrichment, health and wellbeing, and developing sporting excellence. College teams will wear the new Kukri kit from the current academic year, and it will be seen at fixtures across the region and beyond.
