We’re aware of the meningitis outbreak in Kent, where 20 cases have been reported, and two students have tragically died.
The NHS and other Health authorities in the South East are responding with urgent vaccination and antibiotic programmes, particularly for young people and students.
While this outbreak is not in Shropshire, we are being asked to raise awareness and encourage all parents/carers and students to stay informed and look out for symptoms such as fever, headache, neck stiffness, rash, or sensitivity to light. If you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately.
Further details on symptoms can be found here.
