How much does it cost?

Who is it for?
This technical specialist qualification is designed for learners to develop an increased understanding of neuroscience in early years. It covers exploration of brain development in relation to holistic growth with a particular focus on self-regulation and how to nurture this in children from birth to 7 years. It also provides an opportunity for learners to acquire a number of practical and technical skills.
This qualification is designed for learners who wish to gain knowledge in order to improve their practice when working with babies and young children, learning from an evidence-informed understanding of early brain development and will support learners who are seeking a career within the early years sector and who may also want to progress to further or higher education.

Entry Requirements
Industry experience is required, and learners must already have prior core knowledge and skills within the early years sector to study this qualification.
Learners will need to be working, volunteering or on a practical placement in an appropriate setting to be able to show competence in both knowledge and skills.
It is recommended that learners complete 30 placement hours while undertaking this qualification. -
What does the course involve?
To be awarded this qualification, learners are required to successfully achieve two mandatory units.
- Unit 1 Applying knowledge of Neuroscience in Early Years
- Unit 2 Understanding self-regulation and how to nurture this in children from birth to seven years

How is the course assessed?
This qualification is internally assessed with an externally quality assured portfolio of evidence.

You will be working from a paper-based resource pack and submit your assessments for marking by word document or handwritten. Our support staff and assessors are on hand to guide and help you throughout your qualification.
All materials comprise of high-quality activity workbooks. These materials have been officially endorsed by the relevant awarding organisation as meeting the requirements of the qualifications. Learners will be provided with all the necessary workbooks to complete the programme and will have the opportunity to work through a series of reflective tasks and activities designed to reinforce the learning process and test their knowledge.
