Who is it for?
This additional specialist technical qualification (ASQ) will provide learners with an opportunity to develop an understanding of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) relevant to their current or future roles and will equip them with basic understanding of techniques for preventing and addressing ACEs in practice.
This qualification builds on the outcomes within the Early Years Practitioner occupational standard (ST0888).
This qualification is suitable for 19+ learners, who want an opportunity to develop an understanding of ACEs relevant to their current or future roles and will equip them with basic understanding of techniques for preventing and addressing ACEs in practice.
This qualification may also be useful to learners studying qualifications in the following areas:

Entry Requirements
To undertake this qualification, learners must be working, volunteering or on practical placement within an appropriate setting to be able to meet the assessment requirements of this qualification.

What does the course involve?
To be awarded this qualification, learners are required to successfully achieve three mandatory units.
Unit 01 Exploring childhood and family structures
Unit 02 Introduction to adverse childhood experiences
Unit 03 Understand strategies to improve outcomes for children affected by adverse childhood experiences

This qualification is internally assessed and externally quality assured via a portfolio of evidence.
