  • Who is it for?

The Leadership and Management T Level launches students into the business world exploring theories of business practices, behaviours, organisational cultures, and values that will support them in their careers.

In classroom sessions and a carefully chosen industry placement, students build the core knowledge and skills they will need to step seamlessly into management and team leading. In the two-year management administration route, students develop their understanding of governance and how organisations can support and affect society and the environment.

Classroom theory supports 315 hours of industry placement, where students see their skills applied in real-life business situations as they learn how to support and improve projects in private and public organisations. Students will take part in activities that help them to develop their personal skill, and build their character and confidence. This will help them move into their chosen career.

  • Entry Requirements

A minimum of five GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, including English and Maths, or a BTEC Level 2 Diploma plus GCSEs or Functional Skills at Level 2 in English and Maths.

  • What does the course involve?

The course will cover the following topics:
    • Business Context
    • People
    • Quality and Compliance
    • Finance
    • Policies and Procedures
    • Project and Change Management
    • Business Behaviours.

  • How is the course assessed?

At the end of the first year of the course students will sit two core exams, and an Employer Set Project (ESP) covering the core content students will learn throughout the year.

During the second year on the course, students will complete an externally assessed assignment which focusses on team leadership and management.

  • Additional Notes

Once students complete their two-year course, there are several options available to them. These include moving into full-time employment, an apprenticeship or higher education. Many of our students have secured full-time jobs following their industry placement or have gone on to study business further at university.

  • Other Details

In this course, students will explore the key areas that keep a business running smoothly. This includes working with people, understanding the bigger business picture, staying on top of quality and compliance, handling finances, following policies and procedures, managing projects and change, and developing strong business behaviours. Students will also develop practical skills (e.g. verbal communication, time management and decision making) that they can use at work.

  • What do I do next?
