  • Who is it for?

The T Level Foundation programme is a 16-19 study programme designed to develop the chosen sector's skills, experience, knowledge and behaviours to support progression.

    You can expect to:
    • Gain an accredited Level 2 certificate
    • Learn technical knowledge and practical skills
    • Gain relevant industry work experience
    • Develop industry-relevant English and maths skills, as well as digital skills
    • Continue working towards achieving a GCSE grade 4 in English and/or maths if students do not already have this
    • Receive focused individual support and growth in personal development.

Developed with leading employers, schools and colleges who have provided their unique understanding of the knowledge, skills, and behaviours that industry employers look for in future employees. This Level 2 Certificate in Business aims to develop students' understanding and skills to prepare them to study the T Level in Leadership and Management. Students will gain an insight into the business sector and develop applied knowledge and practical skills in business administration, retail, and customer service sectors.

  • Entry Requirements

At minimum of three GCSEs at Grade 3, preferably including Maths and English at Grade 4.

  • What does the course involve?

You will study seven subjects during the year:
In this course, students will be able to explore the key areas that keep a business running smoothly, such as marketing, finance, business online and project management. Students will have the opportunity to work on mini projects based on real business scenarios. Students will also develop practical skills (e.g. communication, time management and decision making) students can use at work and will also prepare them to progress onto a Level 3 course.

  • How is the course assessed?

A mixture of exams and coursework. There are two exams in total and five coursework-based subjects where students build up a portfolio of evidence.

  • Additional Notes

Successful completion of the course could result in progression onto a Level 3 T Level in Leadership and Management or a Level 3 BTEC Diploma. Other routes available include business related jobs or business/business administration apprenticeships.

  • Other Details

Students will be involved in a range of practical activities to enhance their business skills. Students will have the opportunity to undertake work experience in a local business to apply the skills and knowledge developed whilst on this course. We have developed connections with businesses such as Aico, which will work alongside students to solve real-world business problems.

  • What do I do next?

You can apply online via the APPLY button. You can also apply for a second, alternative programme of study such as A Levels via a separate application. If after reading this factsheet, you are still undecided about the course most suitable for you, please drop into one of our open evenings, ring the Admissions Department on 01743 653111, or email admissions@scg.ac.uk
