  • How is the course assessed?

  • Additional Notes

On completion of the two-year course, students can progress to an HNC or HND in Leadership and Management at Shrewsbury College, followed by the opportunity to study a one-year ‘top up’ to a full BA Honours degree at university. Students may also study further afield at a university of their choice.

Alternatively, students may use their qualification to navigate the corporate landscape as a business analyst, marketing specialist, or financial consultant. Students could also embark on their own management and leadership endeavour such as running their own business. Many students go on to secure employment after work experience.

  • Other Details

Study trips outside of the classroom include residential study trips (e.g. London), visits to Alton Towers, Cheshire Oaks, and local business organisations. Every student will complete a one-week work placement with a local employer.

A key feature of the course is Business in Action Day where students spend the day at an external venue working with high-profile employers solving real-life business problems they are currently facing. Past employers have included Croud Digital, Shropshire Homes, AICO, and Morris and Co. Prizes and trophies are awarded to the winning teams.

Event management is also a key part of the course where learners set up and organise real-life events such as a Battle of the Bands night and an end of year Business Prom.
