- How do I apply for a course at Shrewsbury College?
You can apply online through this website. Applications are accepted until around October half-term for some courses, depending on availability. Popular courses may fill up earlier, so apply as soon as possible.
- Can I still apply if I missed the main enrolment period?
Yes, late applications may still be accepted if places are available on your chosen course. Availability varies by subject.
- What should I do if I can’t attend my enrolment appointment?
Contact the college reception to rearrange your appointment to a different date or time.
- What happens if I didn’t receive my enrolment details?
You can request your enrolment information to be resent by contacting reception. They can email or reprint your details.
- Do second-year students need to enrol again?
No - if you are continuing on the same course, you do not need to re-enrol. Your timetable will be available via the student app before the term starts.
- What if I want to change course in my second year?
You must:
- Speak to a tutor or staff member
- Submit a new application
- Attend an interview
If accepted, you will receive a new enrolment appointment.
- What happens if I’m not offered a place?
You can contact the admissions team to discuss alternative courses or options available to you.
- What if I don’t meet the entry requirements for my course?
At enrolment, staff will review your results and recommend alternative courses that match your grades. The college aims to offer a suitable course to all applicants with a conditional offer.
- Can I still study if I only have a few GCSEs?
Yes. The college offers courses at different levels, so there will usually be an option available based on your results.
- Do I have to resit GCSE English or Maths if I didn’t get a grade 4?
Yes. If you didn’t achieve a grade 4, you will need to continue studying and retake the subject alongside your main course.
- What should I do if I haven’t received my exam results?

- When do courses start?
Induction for new students usually begins in early September. Exact dates will be confirmed via the student app.
- When will I get my timetable?
Timetables are available on the student app shortly before the start of term.
- How many days a week will I be in college?
- A Levels / academic courses: Typically 5 days per week
- Vocational courses: Around 3 days per week (minimum 15 hours)
- Apprenticeships: Usually 1 day in college + 4 days working
Independent study and coursework are also expected outside of class time.
- What equipment or uniform do I need?

- Is there help with travel or transport costs?
Yes, Shrewsbury College provides support that may include:

- How do I pay for food on campus?
Money can be added to your student ID card through REMSPay and used in campus cafés, which are cashless.
- I’m over 19 — will I have to pay course fees?

- What support is available if a student is anxious about enrolment?
