  • Who is it for?

    This course is ideal if students are passionate about a career in the media industry. They will gain a broad range of creative and technical skills across areas of media production such as film, animation, game design, photography, graphic design, 3D animation, and concept art.

    Our expert teachers will support students in developing their core creative skills and software expertise through workshops and guided studio sessions.

  • Entry Requirements

    A minimum of three GCSEs at Grade 3 or above, including English

  • What does the course involve?

    Students will be introduced to the processes and skills involved in creative media through a series of creative projects.

    Topics will include:
    • Research and planning techniques, such as storyboards, sketches, and concept art.
    • Production skills using a range of equipment, such as cameras, audio recorders, and greenscreens.
    • Post-production skills using industry-standard software, such as Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, and Blender.
    • Reflection skills to help students set targets to develop their skills in future projects.

  • How is the course assessed?

    You are assessed over the four units during this qualification. Each assessment unit is highly practical and based on assignments set and marked internally by the teacher.

  • Additional Notes

    This course will provide students with the opportunity to continue to develop their creative talents. It will also provide students with the necessary skills for careers in the creative industries or allow them to progress to one of our Level 3 media courses.

  • Other Details

    There will be an opportunity to attend the ‘Create Your Future’ UCAS Convention in Manchester to find out about creative courses at university. All creative media students will have the chance to take part in the End of Year Show, where you can display your work to the public.
