A Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Specialist or a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy (or another equivalent beauty qualification).

Good communication and personal presentation and a willingness to work on the general public for salon treatments.

The VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Treatments is a substantial vocational qualification that will prepare students for a career as a beauty or spa therapist, or nail technician. This commercially recognised qualification is designed to equip students with the knowledge and practical skills required.

Our expert teachers will guide students through the course and cover a wide range of topics relating to the beauty therapy industry in our purpose-built facilities. Students will develop communication and customer service skills and gain an awareness of environmental sustainability and commercial skills, all of which are highly valued by employers. Work experience is a compulsory element of the course, providing a realistic experience of working in the Industry alongside classroom studies.

Students will be taught topics such as:

• Providing body massage

• Face and body electrotherapy

• Health and safety and client care

• Stone therapy massage

• Nail Technology (including gel and acrylic)

Assessment is carried out through practical observations in the salon, oral questions, written assignments, and externally set online/written exams. At the end of the course, a portfolio of evidence is submitted to show a range of assessed work completed throughout the course.

Course highlights

Our course offers opportunities to go on trips and visits that will enrich your learning experience. Students will have the opportunity to compete in national and regional competitions, and cross-college and community events. We work with local providers to give students exciting opportunities for the mandatory two-week work placement that they will undertake as part of the course.

Progression in Beauty Therapy Treatments

Whilst the primary purpose of this qualification is to prepare students for employment, they may choose to study further and complete a specialist qualification at Level 4 (such as HNC/D in Business or Aesthetics Level 4).
