Level 2 Men's & Women's Hairdressing

Level 1 Diploma in Hairdressing or three GCSEs at Grade 4.

This creative and exciting course will provide students with the hairdressing skills required to progress on this career path. Our experienced teachers will support them in developing practical skills by working on peers, paying clients, and training heads. Students will participate in in-house and national competitions to build their hairdressing and interpersonal skills, which can help them progress in this industry. A keen interest in fashion and hairdressing is essential. Students must be willing to work hard, demonstrate good communication skills, and have excellent personal presentation. Students will attend mandatory work experience to give them experience of working within a realistic hairdressing environment, to develop their communication and technical skills.

Students will demonstrate practical assessments on clients in our Hair and Beauty Training Academy and sit online exams or written assignments.

Progression in Men’s and Women’s Hairdressing Level 2 Diploma

Upon the successful completion of this course, students will be able to continue to a Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing at the college, where they will learn advanced hairdressing techniques which will fully prepare them for full-time employment. An alternative option would be to do an apprenticeship in hairdressing and earn while they learn.

Course highlights

Trips include Hair UK, Beauty UK, and Barber UK shows. All students carry out work experience for a minimum of one full working week.
