-  Who is it for?For anyone who shows a keen interest in any form of welding and fabrication and wishes to either further develop their engineering skills to support an existing job role or as a hobby. This qualification will prepare you for a job in industry or you could progress to a more advanced programme such as the Level 1 City & Guilds Award in Introductory Welding (typically 3268-13 MIG / 3268-12 TIG / 3268-10 MMA). 
-  What does the course involve?You will be given a basic level of knowledge in MIG, TIG and MMA welding processes and general metal fabrication techniques. These will comprise: - Health and safety in a welding workshop
- Setting up and closing down procedures of welding equipment
- Basic MIG, TIG and MMA welding techniques and joints
- Basic metal forming techniques and equipment application
 
-  How is the course assessed?This is a college-certificated course and will be assessed through observation of practical tasks. 
-  Additional NotesSuitable full-length welding overalls and safety boots are needed.
