  • Who is it for?

The T Level Foundation Programme is a 16-19 study programme designed to develop the chosen sector's skills, experience, knowledge and behaviours to support progression.

    You can expect to:
    • Gain an accredited Level 2 Extended Certificate
    • Learn technical knowledge and practical skills
    • Gain relevant industry work experience
    • Develop industry-relevant English and maths skills, as well as digital skills
    • Continue working towards achieving a GSCE Grade 4 in English and/or Maths if students do not already have this
    • Receive focused individual support and growth in personal development.

Developed with leading employers, schools and colleges who have provided their unique understanding of the knowledge, skills, and behaviours that industry employers look for in future employees. The T Level Foundation Programme is designed to give students the skills and knowledge required to join the T Level in Digital, Production, Design, and Development. It provides students with skills valued by employers. This programme is not just an academic course. Students will be 'hands-on' with computer hardware and digital development. This course is suitable for anyone wanting a career in the digital industry.

  • Entry Requirements

To study a T Level Foundation Programme, students will need a minimum of four GCSEs at Grade 3 including English or Maths at Grade 4 (or Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths) OR aspiring professional or relevant Level 1 qualification and English or Maths at Grade 4 or above (or Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths). Applicants should be ready to complete a work placement.

  • What does the course involve?

    This study programme includes:
    - Maths
    - Employability skills and work experience.

The course is made up of seven units:
    - The online world
    - Technology systems
    - Digital portfolio
    - Hardware installation and upgrading
    - Software installation and upgrading
    - Computer network
    - Website

  • How is the course assessed?

Two units are externally assessed by an online examination and the rest of the units are assessed by a series of assignments. Each unit will be graded as Pass, Merit or Distinction and the overall grade achieved at the end of the qualification will be determined by the individual unit grades. Students are required to complete and pass all components to achieve their qualification.

  • Additional Notes

The prime aim for this course is to enable students to prepare for the T Level in Digital. However it also prepares them for employment in a variety of digital and computing environments. T Levels are equivalent to three A Levels and lead to higher education, higher apprenticeships, or employment and are mapped to the apprenticeships programme.

  • What do I do next?

You can apply online via the APPLY button. You can also apply for a second, alternative programme of study such as A Levels via a separate application.
