Media Studies
A Level Media Studies explores how media shapes our perceptions of ourselves and the world, offering students the chance to study, analyse, and create a wide range of media texts. Guided by specialist teachers, students investigate television, film, video games, advertising, press, and broadcast media, learning how texts are constructed, by whom, and for which audiences. The course develops critical understanding of social, cultural, and historical contexts, while introducing key theories on media language, representation, industries, and audiences. Through both analysis and practical projects, including work aimed at international and non-mainstream audiences, students gain the skills to critically evaluate and independently produce media in creative and informed ways.
