History - Modern
This course provides an engaging study of over 200 years of modern history, combining British and American perspectives and exploring both the experiences of ordinary people and the impact of influential individuals. Students will investigate major political, social, and economic changes through the use of original source material, video evidence, discussion, debate, and essay writing. Across the two years, topics range from Britain’s transformation in the twentieth century and the challenges of conformity and protest in the USA, to the changing nature of warfare and focused coursework on key movements for equality, enabling students to develop a deep and critical understanding of how societies have changed over time.
