Join our informal Aspire 26 session and discover the wide range of directions careers in these areas can take you. 

What's happening on the night?

  • On arrival, you can explore a range of information stands from teams providing study support, funding options, and careers advice.
  • Our Director of Higher Education, Jane Owen, will then introduce the evening's guest speakers, alumni and employers who will be taking part in your sector-specific workshops during the night
  • You will then go off to join a breakout session to delve deeper into your area of interest. As well as taking part in activities or Q&As with our guest speakers, you can also visit some employer information stands to find out more about your potential new career
  • You will also be able to chat to students already on our courses about what inspired them and how they are finding the learning process
  • As well as speak to our team of expert tutors and teachers about what SC offers and how to get started

Helen Hawksworth, one of our Higher Education lecturers, will take you through inspiring case studies from:

  • Lorna Lyons - BA alumni | was employed as a Teaching Assistant during the course > Now, Year 6 Teacher 
  • Amy Foulger - FdEd / BA alumni | Was employed as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant during the course > Now, Lead Education Officer for Local Council
  • Sara Hesketh - PGCE alumni > Now, Teacher of Early Years and Education in Further Education 
  • Nathan Harding - Level 5 Certificate in Education alumni | Was employed as a Learning Support Assistant at the start of the course > Now, the Satellite Provision Leader at a SEND College
