GCSEs & A Levels
— Explore something new at
Shrewsbury College’s Maths & English Academy enables students to continue working towards gaining their GCSEs alongside their main qualification. GCSE English Language and Maths can be studied alongside full-time courses or separately on a part-time basis.
We also offer a choice of A Levels to study alongside certain two year Level 3 qualifications, allowing a broader combination of qualifications that give you more marketable skills for your future employment.
Both BTEC and A Level qualifications are widely accepted as entry requirements to universities who are often concerned with the number of UCAS points a student has, rather than the type of qualification they are made up from.
Our A Levels can be combined with Level 3 Diplomas in:
- Business & Management
- Computing & IT
- Early Years
- Health & Social Care
- Sport (Not including Outdoor Activities)
- Public Uniformed Services
- Travel & Tourism
Please note: A full A Level takes two years to complete and will need to be taken alongside a Level 3 with a two year duration.
I did Level 2 for a year and then I progressed onto Level 3, which is another 2 years. It all seems worth it though; I get A Levels and a diploma out of it. Brilliant.
