Traineeship drop-in sessions Shrewsbury College, SY2 6PR

If you are keen to progress into a job, an apprenticeship of further studies, a Traineeship cold be for you....

Shrewsbury College is now offering Traineeships in Hospitality and Construction starting on 16 March 2015. Pre-organised work placements with a range of local employers will be available.

Traineeships are for 16-24 year olds who are:

  • unemployed and not in education
  • need a helping hand in gaining confidence, work experience and employability skills
  • not quite ready for an Apprenticeship
  • looking to improve their English and maths

Come Along to one of our drop in sessions on 10 march at either 11am or 2pm for more information.


Start Event Clayton Hall, London Road SY2 6PR

For full-time applicants. Students who have submitted an application form to College will be invited to one of the ten Start Events we will hold this year. This is a compulsory part of our application process and is an opportunity for students to speak to Tutors, view our facilities and find out more about the course they have chosen to study will us.

Invitation letters to this event will be sent to students soon after they apply.

Shrewsbury College are proud to host Shrewsbury Business Chamber's Hustings event.

Presented by Jim Hawkins of BBC Radio Shropshire. A unique opportunity to ask all parliamentary candidates for Shrewsbury & Atcham -

High Sheriff of Shropshire Young Citizen Awards 2015

Now in its tenth year, Shrewsbury College will be hosting The High Sheriff’s Young Citizenship Award for 2015. This event showcases the many endeavors carried out by young people in our communities as, by participating in activities within school and the wider community, young people can gain the experience to develop the skills to cope with life and the challenges which it brings. The Young Citizenship Awards recognises young people aged 18 years and under, who have demonstrated commitment to citizenship through various activities, either as an individual or as part of a group. 

Schools and youth organisations have been invited to send in nominations and parents, guardians and teachers will join nominees on the evening received by the High Sheriff of Shropshire, Robert Bland DL.
