I enrolled on this course, purely for fun. I currently work in education, but I wanted to learn a new skill and be able to make my own bespoke gifts. I initially looked for a flower arranging course last year because my son was getting married and I wanted to help with the flowers. This is the second flower arranging course I have done with Dominique (tutor) – who is fantastic. The group is extremely friendly and we all enjoy the social side of the course as well as learning new skills.

I’ve studied a few courses at Shrewsbury College, and the social side of the part-time classes is one of the reasons I opted to do another course. Studying photography gives me the opportunity to put a hobby of mine into practise and to spend time with like-minded people.

I’d done another photography course previously and have learnt more here in two weeks then I did there in eight. I wanted to get off the automatic setting on my camera and improve my technique, which I’ve already been able to do. The teacher is really good; he’s very engaging.

I did GCSE Art at Thomas Adams School and wanted to carry on exploring new media and different styles of art. The feedback we get from our peers and the tutors really helps us develop and improve our work. The second year of the course is interesting as we get to specialise in the area we want to progress into at university or start our career in.
