Shrewsbury College’s Group hosts first Telford Year 11 Progression Event
The newly merged Shrewsbury Colleges Group is hosting its first ever Telford advice event for school leavers next week.
The event at the Park Inn, Telford, on Wednesday, 25 January, will give students across the county currently in Year 10 and 11 the chance to come along and find out information regarding their next steps.
Catherine Armstrong, Group Vice Principal, Curriculum Support and Business Development, said: “We want to ensure young people make an informed decision about what happens when they leave school. The range of education and training on offer to young people is vast and, while this is exciting and opens up a range of opportunities, it can sometimes be daunting for young people and their parents and carers to know what to do and which route to choose.
“As well as choosing subjects, possible careers and university options, young people also need to understand the levels and types of qualifications. So we are delighted to be able to present this one-stop opportunity for the people of Telford and surrounding areas to explore their choices, including travel and financial information, and speak to our support and teaching staff with any questions they may have.”
At the event students will be able to get information and speak to a range of organisations including Abraham Darby Sixth Form, Adams’ Grammar School, Bridgnorth Endowed Sixth Form, Future Focus, Idsall School Sixth Form, New College, Shrewsbury College, Shrewsbury Sixth Form College, The Army, The Royal Navy, TCAT, Wrekin College.
Students and their family/guardian (up to 2 guests) are invited to book a suitable time slot to secure their place.
