Shrewsbury College students and staff get fit for funds
Shrewsbury College students and staff did their bit for charity this week by getting “fit for funds” and raising money for Sport Relief 2014.
A group of 36 Hair students power walked the four mile stretch from the Radbrook Campus to the London Road Campus and back again. The students, along with their tutors, started the walk at 9.30am Thursday, March 20, to raise sponsorship money.
“The students organise a lot of pamper days for various charities throughout the year as part of the Hair courses, but for sport relief we fancied doing something a little different,” explained Samantha Morris, Hairdressing Lecturer at Shrewsbury College.
“We wanted to arrange something that was challenging, but at the same time fun and accessible to everyone. It is great for our students to actively take part in fundraising events,” she added.
Money is still being collected and will continue to be until after the event. The College hopes to reveal the grand total at the end of next week.
