Technology students celebrate success

More than 40 dedicated and hard-working students were recognised at Shrewsbury College’s School of Technology Awards Ceremony earlier this week.

The annual end of year celebrations, which were held at the Lord Hill Hotel, saw students presented with prizes that were sponsored by various employers and companies.

“It was a great honour to award students for their achievements and hard work,” said Shrewsbury College’s Head of Technology, Bruce Rolls. “All prize winners have demonstrated exceptional vocational and academic skills in their subject areas.”

“The College would also like to express its sincere gratitude to Steve Owen of Pave Away, who was guest speaker at the event, and to all those who sponsored an award or supported the School.”

Students were recognised for their efforts in Brickwork, Carpentry & Joinery, Electrical Installation, Engineering, Motor Vehicle, Painting & Decorating, Plastering and Plumbing.

Shrewsbury College’s School of Technology attracts students from all over Shropshire and the surrounding counties. Courses are taught at the College’s London Road campus in Shrewsbury and its Construction Centre in Telford.
