Film Studies
A Level Film Studies is an engaging course that explores the art, history, and craft of cinema, helping students develop both analytical and practical skills. You will study a diverse range of films—mainstream, arthouse, national, and international—examining how they are financed, constructed, and received within their social, cultural, political, and historical contexts. The course combines critical analysis with hands-on experience, allowing students to apply specialist terminology and theories while developing practical skills in screenwriting, filming, and editing. Through the study of cinematography, mise-en-scène, editing, sound, and narrative, students gain a deep understanding of film aesthetics, storytelling, and audience engagement.
