Sport and recreational activities
There are plenty of opportunities to stay active, try something new and meet other students through our sports and enrichment programme. Activities include rowing, basketball, squash, badminton, table tennis, archery, tennis, rock climbing, fitness classes, dance, community volunteering and the Duke of Edinburgh's Award.
Competitive sport
Students can represent the college through the Shrewsbury College Sports Academy, competing against other colleges in football, rugby, hockey, volleyball and netball. Teams train regularly and compete on Wednesdays, providing opportunities to develop skills, teamwork and confidence.
Clubs and societies
Our clubs and societies give students the chance to explore their interests, meet like-minded people and get involved in college life outside the classroom. Popular groups include the Cultural Society, Environmental Group, Pride Group, Debate Club, Dungeons & Dragons, College Magazine, Lunchtime Games Club and Table Tennis Club, with new clubs regularly created by students.
Instrumental and vocal tuition
Students can access instrumental and vocal tuition through Shropshire Music Service at competitive rates, with bursaries available for eligible students, including those studying A Level Music. Lessons can take place at college or at Shropshire Music Service venues, helping students develop their musical skills alongside their studies.
