Entry requirements

There are no entry requirements but you need to have an interest in motor vehicles.

Who is it for?

For anyone who shows a keen interest in the basics of maintaining a vehicle to support an existing job role or as a hobby; Learn what you can do - and when to call in the professionals; develop your confidence in dealing with basic maintenance jobs. Any learner or new drivers who want to understand their vehicle better and develop skills that can be part of your driving licence test will also benefit from this course.

What does the course involve?

You will be given a base level knowledge of -changing tyres and wheels, safely jacking the car, checking of fluid levels, changing wiper blades, changing bulbs; brakes; exhausts.

How is the course assessed?

This is a college certificated course and will be assessed through observation of practical tasks. Additional Costs Tuition and materials fees are payable on enrolment. Suitable full length overalls and safety boots are also needed. Please refer to the part time prospectus or the website for current fee information.

What do I do next?
