This course offers a rich and engaging study of over 200 years of history, combining periods of British and European history with an exploration of both the lives of ordinary people and the influence of powerful historical figures. Students will develop their historical understanding and skills through the use of original source material, video evidence, discussion, debate, and essay writing. Across the two years, the course covers topics ranging from the Crusades and Anglo-Saxon to Anglo-Norman England, to the Golden Age of Spain, allowing students to investigate dramatic periods of change and their lasting impact on societies, governments, and the wider world.
