We value partnerships with local, national and international companies and organisations to support students in their studies and provide opportunities and links for employment.

The College works in partnership with Shrewsbury Town Football Club to deliver coaching for the Football and Education Level 3 programme. Students represent Shrewsbury Town Football Club at competitive matches in the National league. The Community Trust at the Club provides a wide range of volunteering and specific project opportunities for all subject areas to gain valuable experiences.

The College also works closely with Shrewsbury Town in the Community - a charitable trust linked to the football club. This partnership allows access to numerous activities and events within the community for students to get involved and participate in, which can be used for job applications, CVs and interviews. These can range from sports-related activities with disability groups, elderly and children, as well as fundraising and memory walks within residential care homes. The National Citizen Service programme is a great experience for young people aged 15-17 and is run in partnership with the trust.


The College has a partnership with Mosaic’s leisure company The Shrewsbury Club, which offers a range of opportunities for current and former students. Students can be part of the Tennis Academy, secure work experience and placement opportunities, plus access part-time paid employment. This provides students with access to a recognised company with opportunities across their company not only in sports, but business, catering, finance, therapies, hair, computing and marketing too. The Shrewsbury Club have a range of activities in the year such as the AEGON Tournament where students can gain valuable experiences linked to a national event.


This new partnership with The Wrekin Housing Group offers a wealth of opportunities for young people to try first-hand the world of work, including volunteer opportunities in the community, interview workshops and work experience will also offer the development of exciting new Apprenticeships with associated qualifications across The Wrekin Housing Group are also being developed as a result of the partnership.

Students can get involved in events and activities within the community and the places of work to broaden their experiences and help them with career planning as well as getting useful advice about their own accommodation plans for the future.

The College has a long established partnership with City Unity College Athens through the Erasmus+ programme. This partnership has developed over the years to provide a first class experience for students who want to undertake work experience overseas in Business, Hospitality. Catering or travel and tourism.







The College is an active member, of the National Association of Student Employment Services (NASES), with the Agency Manager sitting on the Executive Board representing the FE sector. Our work with NASES ensures our students have access to a full service of employment support, and also links closely with the SAFER Jobs initiative in partnership with NASES to ensure student safety is paramount in our employment services work.


Young Enterprise Shropshire offers a wealth of practical ways to help young people get a taste of the world of work and the excitement of running a business. They inspire young people to develop aptitudes and attitudes that they cannot learn from a textbook or traditional academic curriculum.


Shrewsbury Colleges Group is a stakeholder in three new National Collaborative Outreach Programmes which enables us to access funding and support to help our students reach their full potential. NCOPs form part of the national Widening Participation agenda, and complement our existing partnerships with universities as part of our engagement with higher education outreach programmes.
