Performing Arts students stage Shakespeare comedy

Performing Arts students from Shrewsbury College will be showcasing their creative talent this week and staging a performance of William Shakespeare’s, Twelfth Night.

The comedy tells the tale of twins, Viola and Sebastian, who are separated by a shipwreck and find themselves entwined in an ironic love triangle.

Year 1 Performing Arts student, Kelly Evans, 17, said: “I’m really looking forward to this week’s productions. I’ve never been part of a Shakespeare performance, so this is a first me. I think it’s beneficial to learn classic plays like this at college, as it boosts your skills and knowledge of the industry.

“The play is full of comedy and love - the perfect light hearted production for audiences to come and watch.”

Year 1 and 2 Performing Arts students will be combining their talent to produce their own version of the play on Wednesday, 14 May and Thursday, 15 May, at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £8 and £5 concessions. To book please call 01743 342699 or email
