Student stars alongside Guy Martin in TV show

Will Marsh, who is currently studying for a Foundation Degree in Manufacturing at the College, featured in the Channel 4 programme when the presenter spent ten days at the Severn Valley Railway’s engine shed and helped to overhaul locomotive 5164.
“Guy was really down to earth and genuinely interested,” said Will, 23. “He made a white metal bearing and then we pressed it into the rod and I showed him how to machine it out.”
Following the success of ‘The Boat That Guy Built,’ the six part series follows the 30- year-old lorry mechanic and motorcycle racer as he helps teams of dedicated volunteers restore an iconic machine or building from Britain’s industrial past.
