    COURSE SPECIFICATION

    This course is ideally suited for anyone wanting to work within the vast industry of sport and leisure at a high level. Our expert teachers will guide you through the requirements of the course and ensure that you're equipped for a career or further studies in this fascinating industry. This sports course is particularly related to those wanting a career in coaching, teaching, sports science, sports management, or performance analysis. Plus, you'll get regular coaching experience, along with the opportunity for industry placements, as well as potential opportunities to earn additional sport-related certifications.

    What this course offers:

    The course is designed to contain a range of sport-related disciplines to allow access to a range of employment fields and university top-up options. This includes subjects relating to sports coaching, sports science, sports management and business, and technology in sport.

     

     

  • Entry Requirements

    A minimum of 48 UCAS Points in subjects appropriate to the course. This may include A Levels in PE or sciences (such as Biology), a Level 3 Diploma, or other vocationally relevant qualifications. Industry related experience and additional qualifications can also be considered.

    Progression in Sports Science and Coaching

    After the course you can progress onto the third year of applicable degree courses at a range of universities, begin a teacher training route, or go directly into employment.

    There will be the opportunity to access external additional qualifications in a number of sports during the course. This may be at cost.

Sports and leisure assistants, provide and maintain facilities for sporting and recreational activities and supervise their use, maintain the continuity of entertainment and social events, offer odds and accept bets on the result of sporting and other events and control gambling activities.

Sports coaches, instructors and officials work with amateur and professional sportsmen and women to enhance performance, encourage greater participation in sport, supervise recreational activities such as canoeing and mountaineering, and organise and officiate at sporting events according to established rules.
