Who is it for?

The use of social media tools such as Twitter and Facebook is becoming an integral part of marketing your business. This course introduces you to the major social media tools enabling you to promote your business online, engage with your customers and attract new business. This course is specifically designed for small to medium sized businesses wanting to utilise the power of social media to promote their business. Delivered in a practical workshop setting, this course will provide an overview of the key platforms: Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+, Pinterest, and Instagram. You will create a presence on each network and learn highly effective tips and techniques for getting the most out of them. It will also give you an introductory primer on social media measurement and management of your online presence.

What does the course involve?

Using practical demonstration, discussion, & case studies this course will be delivered in a workshop format giving you the opportunity to explore the subject and will provide you with an opportunity to see what each social network can do for your business. The final session will show you have you can utilise a number of free or low-cost tools to simplify, manage and measure your online presence. Examples of the subjects covered include: an introduction to Social Media; Twitter for Business; Facebook for Business; Google + & LinkedIn For Business; Pinterest, Instagram and other tools; managing, measuring and simplifying your online presence.

How is the course assessed?

There are no formal assessments for this course.

Additional notes

Workshops will take place in one of the college's computer laboratories. You do not need to bring any devices with you, however wireless internet access is provided if you would like to use your own equipment.
