What does the course involve?

The course requires 90 hours in a college environment undertaking theory and practical elements plus 'on the job' training with candidates providing work-based evidence under the supervision of a Gas Safe registered installer. The topics within the college include soldering copper pipe, threading steel pipe, tightness testing, purging, flame picture, pipe sizing, combustion (flue gas) analysis, ventilation, gas pressures and gas rate / heat input, flues and chimneys, safety controls, gas legislation, the Gas Industry Unsafe Situations Procedure and more. Course notes will be provided to supplement textbooks.

How is the course assessed?

Fully qualified Gas Safe registered assessors will conduct the assessment at the end of your training. Your Gas Foundation Certificate will allow you to undertake the ACS gas initial assessment.

Additional costs

£1240 for three weeks (90 hours) training. This must be paid for in full prior to undertaking the Core Gas Safety training.
