Entry requirements

A Level 2 qualification in Welding or suitable experience.

Who is it for?

This course is ideal to progress from a Level 2 or intermediate welding skill level. At this level you will be able to produce high precision welding and also testing of the quality of your welding. Depending on the programme chosen you can choose Manual Metal Arc (stick) then progressing to Metal Inert Gas (MIG) or Tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding. By the end of the course, you will have produced a number of high quality test pieces.

What does the course involve?

High skill requirement for the practical welding element and completing test items for assessment.

How is the course assessed?

Your work will be continuously assessed throughout the course and by one exam.

Additional costs

Tuition, exam registration and materials fees are payable on enrolment. Suitable full length welding overalls and safety boots are also needed. Please refer to the part time prospectus or the website for current fee information.
