Students ‘RISE’ to the occasion for MacMillan Cancer Support

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s largest fundraising event for people facing cancer. This year students and staff from Severndale School and Shrewsbury College have joined forces once again to raise money for this cause.

Members of the two colleges brought in over 100 cakes on Wednesday 25th September, which were sold throughout the day to fellow students, staff and guests at Origins Restaurant.

“Every year MacMillan is one of the charities that students are particularly keen to support.  We are delighted that they once again rose to the challenge and we are hoping to have raised even more than last year’s impressive £452”, said Phil Castle - Student Events Ambassador at Shrewsbury College.

Last year alone everyone involved in the MacMillan Cancer Support raised £25 million.
