College is top of the form

Shrewsbury College of Arts and Technology has come out on top in newly released Government figures for general Further Education colleges in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Staffordshire.

Statistics published by The National Data Service last week listed Shrewsbury College as the highest placed general FE college in the area based on their success rates for learners aged 16-19 studying on long courses.

Greg Molan, Principal of Shrewsbury College, said: “The College has demonstrated progressive improvement over the last few years and the statistics are a testament to the quality of teaching and learning that takes place at the College.”

“Our success rate of 82.4% means that the College is now in the top 26% of general FE colleges and provides the best opportunity for success in the area, for young people seeking a vocational route to higher education or employment.”

The Data Service is an independently managed organisation, established and funded by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and supported by the Skills Funding Agency to act as a single, central point of information for further education.

Shrewsbury College was placed 59th out of 230 general Further Education college’s in the country.
