PGCE student in teaching environment

If you choose one of our HE Education courses, you will be taught by highly experienced and passionate lecturers who are educated to post-graduate level and have significant of teaching experience. They pride themselves on being able to guide you through the exciting challenges you will face when studying towards a teaching qualification or working towards awards which will help you progress in the Early Years or Education sector.

We offer part time Foundation Degrees in Education and Early Years and from September 2016 we have been approved to offer the BA Honours in Education top up in partnership with Staffordshire University. This is an excellent pathway to becoming a teacher in Early Years, Primary or the Further Education and Training sector.

We offer two means of training to become a qualified teacher in the Further Education and Training sector, the University Higher Diploma (for those with a Level 3 qualification) and a Post Graduate Certificate in Further Education or Training (for those with a undergraduate degree, Level 6).

We promote high standards of teaching, learning and assessment with a strong focus on developing subject-specific professional practice with the support of a mentor. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with peers qualified in a range of subject areas and benefit from learning in our dedicated classrooms with all of the facilities you need. In addition we have many links to organisations which offer placements to help you achieve the essential work experience required.

On completing qualifications with us, students are able to range advantage of a range of progression routes or top up their qualifications at university and 100% of trainees on our PGCE programme in 2015/16 gained employment at the end of the programme in a relevant role.
