Having gained a degree in Sports Therapy from Birmingham University, I joined Shrewsbury College to study a PGCE in order to become a sport and fitness lecturer. The College gave me practical, real-life experience of the teaching environment and a really solid basis to start my career from.Andy Van Ommeren, PGCE
I returned to College to do the Access to Higher Education course as my qualifications were 'too old' to be counted towards a University application. I thought the finances might be an issue but the easy Advanced Learner Loan - which gets written off once I complete my degree - has been great.Polly Pancosta, Access to HE
