Governance Overview
This Section contains information on the College's Corporation and Committees, gives access to the Minutes of meetings and explains the role of governance and how it relates to College management.
The Difference between 'Governors' and 'Managers'
Understanding how each element of the College works is vital to effective governance. As a rule, the Corporation is responsible for strategy, direction and policy, whilst the Management Team makes proposals and implements the Corporation's strategies and policies on a day-to-day basis.
The Corporation (Governing Body) is responsible for the mission and strategic direction of the College, determines policy and monitors the performance of the College. The Corporation has a maximum of 20 Governors coming from a wide variety of backgrounds, and their experience and strategic thinking make a vital contribution to the continuing development and improvement of the College.

- We will become a significant provider of employer responsive provision operating locally, regionally and nationally
- We will expand the range and volume of Higher Education delivered by the College and create a HE centre in partnership with HEIs and employers
