Entry requirements

To be able to show a keen interest machining metals.

What does the course involve?

For basic skills development in practical machining metal, you will be given a base level knowledge of milling, turning and hand fitting processes in the engineering workshop. Producing components using hand fitting techniques; Preparing and using lathes for turning operations; Preparing and using milling machines and Working safely in an engineering environm

How is the course assessed?

This is a college certificated course and will be assessed through observation of practical tasks.

Additional costs

Tuition and materials fees are payable on enrolment. Suitable full length overalls and safety boots are also needed. Please refer to the part time prospectus or the website for current fee information.
